It is understood that from July 11 to July 17, 2025, the weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises in the five provinces surveyed by SMM was 70.96%, representing a WoW increase of 0.2 percentage points.
In mid-July, end-use consumption in the domestic lead-acid battery market improved slightly. However, influenced by factors such as tariffs, the production trends of lead-acid battery enterprises have changed. On the one hand, as the traditional peak season approaches in the e-bike lead-acid battery market, a small number of enterprises have reported relatively better new orders and have recently increased the operating rate of their production lines or reduced factory holidays. On the other hand, due to frequent high-temperature weather in north China, the difficulty of workshop operations has increased, leading some enterprises to adjust workers' production schedules, which in turn has lowered the operating rate of production lines. In addition, the US continues its negotiations on "reciprocal tariffs" with multiple trading partners. The anti-dumping survey conducted by the Middle East on China and Malaysia's starter lead-acid battery enterprises has concluded. Some lead-acid battery enterprises will face tariffs ranging from 25% to 70%. Before the implementation of these tariffs, some producers have increased production to secure orders.
